White Pine Middle School is pleased to present Justin Locke as the Support Staff Member of the Month for January 2021.  Justin returns to his tenth year at White Pine Middle School in the role of detention/ISS supervisor and athletic director. Justin is an active participant in the school culture as shown through his support of school spirit days, giving of his time at after school sports activities, dances, and lock-ins, and fiercely supporting the notion for all students to Dream Big!  In addition to his assigned duties with our school within a school program, Justin  provides his knowledge and talents to students while teaching elective weights classes.

Justin works to hold the district values of high expectations and high levels of support for all students.  He continually works with at risk students to build the belief that they can achieve and he refuses to give up on anyone.  His belief in success is contagious as evidenced by the numerous state championships he has led White Pine High School to in girls’ basketball, girls’ track and boys’ track.  When students struggle, he looks for alternative approaches to make the learning more understandable through the use of different strategies.  Justin has developed a strong partnership with our instructors and his able to provide support to students that spend time with him.

Justin exemplifies the district’s mission of promoting, supporting and ensuring high levels of learning for all and works diligently to meet that mission through the vision of working interdependently to achieve.  Justin always puts the best interests of students at the forefront when making decisions at school.  He builds strong relationships with students and staff resulting in a strong vision for learning.  Justin is a highly valued member of the White Pine Middle School staff!  Thank you for all you give to our students!
